The Sea & The Sand, A Poem

she is the sea

vast and swarming

in a cosmic arena

he is the sand

reshaped by

her independence

she is the

elixir of life

he is made up

of only skeletons

she ebbs and flows

he waxes and wanes

she reflects purity

he absorbs half-truths

and like a tidal pool

her heart collects

then lies naked

under fiery rays

and like a cliff

he slowly erodes

becoming something

that only once was
